Are you going to the dance? Because you should. Everyone's going to be there and I think it will be nice to hang out with each other before everyone goes their separate ways.

I really have to say that watching that cow start croaking during the play was one of the main highlights of the play. It was brilliant, and thank you for providing me a much needed laugh after a stressful week!

I'll miss Hogwarts' plays a lot. Granted, I've never been involved with any of them (sorry! I suppose performing has never been an interest) but they've always been excellent. Maybe I'll come visit next year to attend one.

Hexed Private, but Cecilia can read it )

It's still strange to think that in three weeks I won't be a student any more.

Cecilia, I think you left one of your quills in the library while we were studying. I have it with me, but I don't think I can differentiate between yours and mine because all of them look the same. Either way, you should come take a look later.

Here's something fun to figure out:

When can you add two to eleven and get one as the correct answer?

Anyone who gives the right answer gets a Chocolate Frog.

I’m sure that all of you have suspected that Professor Fairweather has been fired, and yes, it is true. We were not told why he was fired, but The Headmaster has been known to make decisions for the school’s benefit. And he deserves it

I would like to tell all of you to stop spreading nonsensical and unnecessary rumours around the school that will only make yourselves look like rumour mongers, because that is not the kind of attitude that is needed in this school. What you will end up doing is only spreading lies, and nothing good ever comes out of lying. I am certain that most of you are grown up enough to know this. The Head Girl and I do not accept this kind of behaviour, as it questions the authority of the Headmaster himself. We will not hesitate to give out detentions or take off House points if this prolongs. I am not only referring towards the matter concerning Professor Fairweather, but what has recently been written in some students’ journals lately too.

Enough is enough. There are important examinations coming up that will determine your future, so don’t let this kind of thing make you lose your attention. And to those who do not have any exams, remember that your time will come soon. If you only plan to waste time by doing this kind of thing then rest assured that you will have a hard time coping with NEWT level subjects.

That was a close match, but congratulations to Ravenclaw for the win. It was a great game!

It's hard to believe that that was the last Quidditch match of the year.

Did anyone lose their NEWT History of Magic textbook, by the way? I found one lying in the middle of the hallway today with no name in it.

A reminder to all Fifth and Seventh Years -- your N.E.W.T and O.W.L examinations are coming soon. If you have any trouble coping with the subjects, feel free to ask for help from Emmeline and I. We are both certain that your Prefects can help you too. At a time like this, it's good to form a study group and quiz each other to identify your weaknesses.

It's definitely strange to think that I won't be back here in September. Not that it's bad -- it would be nice to be out of the school and be able to do other things. I'm not certain as to what those things are I hope we'll all be able to keep in touch, though.

I'm writing as if we're leaving tomorrow. Should probably stop now!

Stupid question, I know, but are you all right? You're not really pregnant are you STUPID QUESTION of course you're not They were being unreasonably harsh in the Slambook. I tried to make them stop writing, but I obviously failed.

Congratulations to all of you that got a part (or parts?) for the musical! I'm sure that this will be another great performance. Professor Penrose seems quite excited about it.

I spent all of Saturday morning in Hogsmeade with my brothers. Apparently they felt that I had the obligation to go to Hogsmeade with them and buy them everything they can think of. Anyway, that's about it, as I still need to finish my Potions essay for Snape.

Well dash it, I lost all my Chocolate Frogs to Wayne Baker after five games of Exploding Snap. I tried to offer him coffee, but he declined. I suppose in any situation, a Chocolate Frog will always be preferable over coffee. How disheartening. Perhaps, one day, people will realise the importance of caffeine.

To be frank, the Slambook entries hasn't been amusing lately. True, it would be difficult to confiscate the book from whoever it is that's writing, but it would be nicer if there were less negative topics written. It's rather disappointing to see people stooping so low to insult everyone else.

There's nothing much left to be said about yesterday that isn't already written by all of you. I hope that what ever conflicts that might have come up because of last night will be resolved, because it wasn't anyone's fault that we were, well, behaving like that. However, if anyone has any information regarding the person behind the prank, it would help to let me or other Prefects know as the after effects of the drink could have had worse after effects than last night.

But it's a good thing everyone made it out alive!

And I apologise, again, to the girls that I kissed.

It has come to my attention that Second Years are more excited about Valentine's Day festivities than the rest of us. Consider me surprised! What happened back then when twelve-year olds were only excited about bicycles? Or maybe that was me. We can blame this on my father, who did not forget to let me read Does the World Spin or Bounce: The Wizard's Perspective but had forgotten to teach me how to ride a bicycle.

Whoa, I went off-topic. Anyway, point is, Second Years' moods are quite infectious. One of the girls gave me this quiz sheet for -- what was it -- When Are You Getting Married? and apparently answering 10 questions enough to determine that I'll be walking down the aisle before I'm 30. There was also another quiz called Are You The Perfect Valentine? but I'd rather keep my shameful results a secret.

This is the moment when I'm supposed to be realising that I need something else productive to do.

Yes. I'm realising it right now.

Friendly reminder to all of you planning to go to Hogsmeade: Remember to give seats at the Three Broomsticks for the old couples!
